HKIIT Spatial Application Innovation Contest 2026: final and award ceremony
The HKIIT Spatial Application Innovation Contest 2026 came to a close on 17 January 2026. 417 Tech again worked with HKIIT on this year’s contest, themed “Technology to tackle social issues”, encouraging students to use Swift and Wonderland creatively to respond to issues in their communities.

In the City I&T Grand Challenge, 417 Tech proposed a smart solution to prevent heatstroke while hiking: an app that sends real-time trail information to users’ phones to help hikers plan safe routes.

HKIIT Student Spatial World Design Challenge 2025: imagine my future city
For the first time, 417 Technology Limited invited HKIIT to co-organise this contest, passing our experience directly to students of different ages and helping them learn about the latest technology. As students work with technology, they build not only their technical skills but also creative thinking and teamwork, so they can step confidently onto the international stage and become future technology leaders.

Teaching creative game design at InnoCarnival 2024
At the invitation of HKSTP, 417 Tech taught students at InnoCarnival 2024 to use Wonderland to create their own AR mini-games.

Using the government’s 3D pedestrian network, an app has been developed to help visitors learn about local character as they walk around Hong Kong, and to help residents plan walking routes and get to know Hong Kong better. Non-ethnic Chinese residents who grew up in Hong Kong tried the app and said it deepened their understanding of the city, and hope more languages will be added in future.

Teaching Swift programming to primary and secondary students
From April to May 2024, the 417 Tech team ran a number of Swift programming sessions to get young students started on Apple development skills.

The 417 Tech team scored another success at HK Techathon 2023, winning the Best Presentation Award with PresentAR, its interactive presentation system. The system combines AR and computer vision to make talks more engaging and immersive.
